Interkulturelle Kommunikation

Business conversations in Germany and France tend to be more formal then in usual between the boss and his staff in the Netherlands or USA . Spontaneity is highly valued in Spain whereas taking a more reserved attitude in Sweden will be well accepted and understatement will always be well acknowledged.

Do you know why?

Being able to identify only the outer, most visible differences of another culture does not indicate an understanding of the culture. The person who does not understand the reasons for cultural differences will not likely develop those skills that enable him to deal with them successfully.

Our workshops will start with an introduction on communication and the different layers of culture. Thereafter, you will see and experience, through role playing a few short dialogues that present culture clashes between individuals from different cultural backgrounds, some of the many basic points of potential cultural friction and misunderstandings present in our simplest conversations.
